Passalacqua is an ancient 18th-century villa towering in the heart of Moltrasio, Lake Como. After an extensive and meticulous restoration, it has been brought back to life by Paolo, Antonella, and Valentina De Santis, visionary entrepreneurs from Como and the family behind the iconic Grand Hotel Tremezzo.
Over the centuries, Passalacqua has captivated the hearts of figures such as Churchill, Napoleon, and Vincenzo Bellini. Today, it offers 24 suites that celebrate Italian excellence and hospitality. Just one year after opening, Passalacqua was named the best hotel in the world in the inaugural edition of The World’s 50 Best Hotels. It has recently been honoured once more in these awards as Best Boutique Hotel and as The Best Hotel in Europe 2025.
