Founded by two Hong Kong University academics, Walk Japan is entering its 34th year of offering authentic, immersive walking tours of Japan. From its first signature tour, the Nakasendo Way, the tour operator has expanded its operations to include 50 off-the-beaten-track tours, both Guided and Self-Guided nationwide, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. The company's latest tours include gentle walks through rural East Hokkaido, gastronomic treats in Nagano's Kiso region, coastal adventures around the Izu peninsula and historical explorations of Saga and Nagasaki. Guided tours are for a maximum of 12 guests and all accommodation is in hand-picked local inns and ryokans.
